Naples Physician Elected as Florida Medical Association President-Elect
The Florida Medical Association House of Delegates elected Naples physician Corey L. Howard, M.D., FACP, President-Elect during the FMA Annual Meeting in Orlando on Saturday, August 5, 2017. The FMA, which has more than 20,000 members, is the largest organization representing Florida physicians.
“I’m humbled and honored that my colleagues elected me their next President,” Dr. Howard said. “It is a great honor. There are exciting times ahead of us and I will be involved every step of the way.”
Dr. Howard is an internal medicine physician in Naples and CEO/President of Physicians Life Centers. He focuses on prevention by helping patients make lifestyle changes to improve their overall health. Within organized medicine, Dr. Howard has served in numerous leadership positions at the state and national levels. He is a member of the FMA Executive Committee and the Board of Governors, Chair of the FMA delegation to the American Medical Association (AMA),and a member of the FMA Political Action Committee (PAC) Board.
Dr. Howard was FMA Vice Speaker for three years and elected Speaker three years in a row before being elected President-Elect. He is also a Past President of the Collier County Medical Society.
As FMA President-Elect, Dr. Howard will work directly with the FMA president and staff and represent the organization throughout the state.
