Dr. Howard attended the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science. He then attended the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. After medical school, he was an intern at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Long Island Jewish campus before returning to Tampa to complete his internal medicine residency.
After Completing a year as Chief Resident in internal medicine he completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology in the division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition. During his time as a resident and fellow, he served on the Medical Executive Committee of Tampa General Hospital, served as house staff president, working with over 700 residents at USF served on numerous other committees and was elected by his peers and students as teacher of the year.
Dr. Howard moved to Naples in 1996 and began his solo Gastroenterology practice. After 10 years in practice he completed additional training in Anti-Aging, Functional and Regenerative Medicine, completed a fellowship in Metabolic Nutritional Medicine, trained as a Life Coach with Robbins-Madanes (Tony Robbins and Cloe Madanes) and completed a 300 hour professional plant-based cooking course.
Dr. Howard is a past president of the Florida Medical Association where he remains on the Board of Governors and serves as the Chair of the Florida Delegation to the American Medical Association. He served as president of the Collier County Medical Society, Chair of the department of Internal Medicine at NCH has been awarded several honors including student teaching awards and the Meritorious Service award, the highest honor bestowed by the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Howard is also a musician, participating in a band for the local "Physician's Talent Show", which is a charity benefiting the Neighborhood Health Clinic, a non-profit, private clinic which provides medical care to those who cannot afford it. He wrote and published a fiction novel, "Chain Reaction" and is interested in writing more in the future. Dr. Howard is an Ironman Triathlete and has participated in different events. He is a dedicated father to his three, now grown kids, and husband to his amazing wife Cyndi Yag-Howard, a Cosmetic Dermatologist.
As an outstanding internist and diagnostician, Dr. Howard practices general internal medicine and functional medicine. His practice includes the evaluation and management of heart disease, thyroid diseases, allergies, diabetes, high blood pressure and all issues that pertain to healthcare. He is a specialist in hormone evaluation and management providing different types of hormone therapy including Pellet therapy when needed. His focus is on disease prevention and reversal working directly with you on your individual health goals.
Dr. Howard takes a holistic (really "W"holistic) approach to your care because he evaluates and manages you as a person. He dives into lifestyle medicine which includes nutrition, fitness, sleep and stress management, relationships and environmental factors that may affect your health. Utilizing the newest technologies and science, Dr. Howard helps to create a comprehensive and individual program for all patients.
